Mirror Affect
Intentionality Day 8... MIRROR AFFECT
In a room full of mirrors - what reflection do you see?
A question I asked myself as I walked passed a dozen or so mirrors inside of Hobby Lobby.
How you see yourself is an imperative interpretation to your intentionality. How do you see your worth? Are you enslaved to people because you need approval? If you were, would you even know it? Have you taken the chance to look yourself in the mirror at all lately?
How do you see your humanity? Have you ever taken the time to engage in honest reflection of your flaws? Or are you so prideful - you’d rather choose “the fall”. (Proverbs 16:18)
True reflection - it addresses your “why” to either of those above and countless other things. Maybe you were told you were never enough & so now that’s you search to be. Or maybe you’re so afraid to accept the ugly parts of yourself because change of heart may mean - change of action, change of scenery, change of friends, change of jobs... just change period. And change is scary.
Your - “why” will be the road map to your healing. And if you’re not being intentional - you won’t ever see who you are & who you’re truly meant to be
I know looking in the mirror is scary. No matter what, it’s most likely to hurt. Running from the hurt won’t heal it.
James 1: 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
